Hi. I am a full time photographer, based in Blackheath, London. But you want to know more than that right?
So here’s my story…
The explorer
I grew up in Essex, went to university in Sheffield and then headed off travelling to Central and South America on my own for a while. Travelling has always been a big part of my life – my current tally is 35 countries but I hope to keep on counting! Travelling was how I fell in love with photography and now my love of photography feeds my love of travel. I love meeting different people in different places and trying to capture what I see and feel to share it with other people.
Loving the light
After travelling I moved to Edinburgh for my job. Living there really changed the way I looked at the world around me – I didn’t have to be in a new place each day – here I learnt to seek out beautiful light and interesting subjects in our everyday lives.
Inspired by art
My job took me to China and I was fortunate to live next door to an amazing artist - Eleanor Kotlarik Wang. Through Eleanor I learnt the work that goes into a piece of art, the vision and inspiration required. I learnt to find my creative side and was inspired to make each shoot different. I continue to be inspired by other artists and I am currently undertaking a Masters in fine art photography.
The best job in the world
Five years on from China and after much training and practice I have never been happier or more proud of what I do – I really do think I have the best job in the world (well, for me anyway!) I get to meet amazing people and share many happy occasions in people’s lives.
But I’m not just a photographer…
I’m also a wife – I got married to Paul in May 2010 so I know what it’s like to plan a wedding and many of my clients have benefitted from suppliers I have found via my own wedding and the weddings I have photographed.
I also love animals, dancing (just ask my friends who have seen my Justin Timberlake impression!), live music and theatre. So when photography brings me in to contact with all the things I love, you can understand why I love it so much!
I could go on … but if you have any questions do get in touch – don’t be shy!
