Cheryl Cole Cover Story: Editorial Portraiture
As a freelance photographer for the Prince’s Trust I get to travel the country and meet wonderful and interesting people. From celebrity ambassadors (see more on my coverage of the celebs at the Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards), to inspiring mentors and of course the young people themselves who have benefited from the help of the trust.
In each scenario I am tasked with telling a story through the images and supporting the message that the Prince’s Trust needs to communicate.
The latest edition of the Trust’s magazine has just been released and features a number of my images. You can check it out online here – Enterprising Magazine
Here are the stories I covered in the latest issue:
Cheryl Cole – Cover image
Cheryl presented Katey with her Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Celebrate Success Awards ceremony held at Odeon, Leicester Square. I was on hand to capture the two of them having a chat after the awards ceremony.
TM Lewin, Regent’s Street
TM Lewin is a great supporter of the Prince’s Trust. You can purchase a Prince’s Trust tie and cufflinks in their stores with £10 going to the Prince’s Trust. I spent a few hours with the store manager, Conrad, and one the of trust’s young people on a placement in the store. The dynamic between the two was brilliant and we had such fun on the shoot (I actually had to ask them to stop laughing!) I think both harbour modelling aspirations! I loved picking out locations around the store for our shots and we got a nice range of different images for the Trust to use in their publications.
Karen – Prince’s Trust Mentor
I travelled up to Birmingham to meet Karen at the Prince’s Trust regional office. As we chatted Karen shared much of her own business experience and insight with me. She was such an inspiration and I envy the young people who have access to her through the Trust. She reminded me of the importance of finding the space to map out where you want to go and why. She protects time in her day to take walks in the countryside with her dog where she is able to clear her mind and really think about her businesses and projects. A lesson to many of us in our ever-moving-twitter/facebook/email/ text-driven lifestyles!
