Back in the Autumn I was over in the USA for a family wedding. After finishing all my client work for Christmas I started work on the wedding images of Cat and Neil, wanting to get them to them for a Christmas Day slideshow.
It was a wonderfully relaxed and intimate celebration in my Aunt and Uncle’s garden and we had a ball! Cat and Neil had decided they wanted to do as much of the wedding as possible themselves and drawing on the skills of their family and friends. They went to so much effort and thought of every tiny detail; From the favours to the wedding programmes (that also doubled up as a fan in the hot Californian sun!), the handmade hair pieces for the bride and bridesmaids, the beautiful flowers (well done Mum!), their names and date of the wedding painted onto the pagoda (my skilled Uncle!), the yummy food (US & Korean BBQ), the gifts they got eachother to their personal vows… It was a delight to photograph and wonderful to play a part in their big day.
I hadn’t met Cat until we arrived in California but I felt like I’d known her all my life from all the messages we’d exchanged on facebook in the run up. She is such a joy to be around and such a great addition to the family.
Wishing you both a future filled with happiness.

PS Cat and Neil’s post-wedding shoot in the desert will be coming soon!

I’m always and advocate of the bride giving a speech!

I love the American tradition of the dances for the Bride and her father and the Groom and his mother…

Cat changed into her colour co-ordinated crocs a little later…

I managed to steal Cat away from the crowds for a few moments to catch some images as the sun went down…

The crocs had to come off though when one of Cat’s colleagues arrived with these boots as gift! (well she was marrying into a family with Essex roots!)
