Thanks Clare but I would be saying, “Wow!” to these images even if you hadn’t mentioned me. Fantastic depth and detail – capturing the life of these people – and I love the colour pallet.

Cuba Street Photography: Post 1: Five men just hanging

I’ve just got back from a trip to Cuba, a country I’ve been desperate to visit for sometime. Over ten years ago I travelled around South and Central America and fell in love with all things Latin American – the language, the music, the dancing, and the people. Cuba has all this and then it’s…

The long awaited honeymoon…

So once Paul was back on his feet we rescheduled our honeymoon and headed off to Vietnam. It was an incredibly interesting country but the one thing that I will always remember it for is its people – well, and the craziness of so many scooters on the road and having to dart between them!…

These are just stunning Clare. Makes us want to go to Vietnam even more than we did before. There is something magical about seeing pictures of local people living their normal every day lives and simply smiling. It makes me smile!

Ian Breheny - November 3, 2010 - 11:20 pm

Amazing pictures, my fave is the one of Paul getting his hair cut.

On the fringe

As a previous resident of the wonderful city of Edinburgh, and a great fan of the performing arts, the Edinburgh Festival is a real joy. Just walking around the city, especially the Royal Mile, is fab and you can’t beat an afternoon of people watching and celeb spotting at The Pleasance Courtyard. This year my…

Returning to Barcelona

Barcelona holds a special place in my heart as it is where I first experimented with an SLR camera. I still have images of Gaudi’s Pedrera chimneys on the wall at home. For years I have been keen to get back there and photograph some more. Anyone who has been to Barcelona will know that…

Having been to Barcelona I can appreciate your love of it but I have to say Clare, I am absolutely blown away by your photographs. Truly stunning – particularly the puddle reflection image. Would love that blown up!

Clare Barrins - April 15, 2010 - 3:11 pm

I’m off to Barcelona for the first time in May and your pictures have just made me so excited! Thanks!

Jon Boyle - April 14, 2010 - 10:52 pm

Love it love it love it! Whenever I think of Barca, on of the first things I think of is the street performers. Love the way you’ve captured another side to them.
It is definitely one our favourite cities. We’re going back in September – guess what – it’ll be our first city break with our SLR!

Nude cyclist :) great timing with your camera, as always.
Also love the reflections in the 4 windows with 4 people on the steps in front. Very nicely framed.
