Girlfriend Guide to Zurich, Fraümunster Cloister – A fitting celebration for a fabulous year!

For those of you who don’t know My Girlfriend Guide to Zurich, (only my overseas friends should be in that category!) they are “dedicated to helping women in Zurich IMMERSE themselves into their community, EXPLORE all that Zurich has to offer and SHARE their tips with other women”.

Their website, monthly e-newsletter (sign up on their homepage) and facebook page are an amazing resource to find out what’s hip, new and cool in Zurich. I’ve really enjoyed attending their events and have also had the privilege to work with them by jointly hosting our Bubbles and Boudoir event in February.

Founded by Deja and Angelica, these girls really are the ones to know! This week they celebrated the first birthday of  Girlfriend Guide. I knew the venue would be special but they really out-did all our expectations by hosting their party at the Fraümunster cloister. (For my overseas readers, this is the equivalent to hosting at St Paul’s Cathedral in London or St Patrick’s in NYC!) I hear Zürich Tourism provided the symbolic location suggestion.

I can’t believe how much the girls and their partners have achieved in just one year. I am so excited to be planning future events with them! Watch this space!

For now, ladies, CHEERS! Congratualtions on all you have achieved, and sit back (but not for too long!) and marvel in what you have created.

The silent auction raised over CHF1500 for Room to read - a charity that “works in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and supports girls to complete secondary school”.

Party-goers enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances (with other like minded women of Zurich that is, not just the food and drink!)
