This was always going to be a big day. The wedding of our close friends Steve and Julie. Steve has been friends with my husband since primary school and I’ve known Steve for many years. A popular guy, I can’t even count how many times he’s been best man or usher at a wedding – so often in fact that I don’t think he owns a regular suit! Getting to know Julie over the years has been such a pleasure and her hen do in March was not only a fabulous weekend but introduced me to her wonderful school friends and confirmed that it wasn’t just us that thought of her with such fondness. What a couple!
Julie looked stunning and I had to keep reminding myself that I was there to take photographs rather than just coo over her beautiful dress! (and of course Steve scrubbed up well too!)
The wedding had all the ingredients – a beautiful bride, a few forgotten lines in church, a last minute rush back to the suit hire shop, oh and of course many happy (male) tears!
The speeches were a real highlight of the day – Matt the best man had a tough job – not only had Steve given a great best man speech at his wedding but choosing between the hundreds of funny episodes in Steve’s life would have been a tough job!
Steve and his parents surprised Julie with a honeymoon in NYC – she thought they were going to Wales! Her reaction was a treat! (Only problem is, Steve had had to pack her suitcase! Good job NYC has some shops!)
So I promised a few sneak peaks on the blog for them to look at in NYC – but got a bit carried away! I can never just add a few – I’m all about the story… So here you go, I hope you all like them!
